We are delighted to announce that later this season we will holding Combination Cup, Vase and Bowl competitions, kindly sponsored by Butcombe Brewing Company
The competitions (Cup, Bowl & Vase) are open to member Clubs whose 1stXV’s play League rugby at Regional 1 (level 5) and below. The competitions will run during the five weeks between the completion of the league programme (6thApril 24) and the end of the season (11th May 24), as indicated in the RFU Structured Season document.
Because of the limited time available and the fact that no allowance has been made in the RFU Structured Season for the completion of outstanding League fixtures, this season’s Competitions will be run on a straight knock-out basis.
Clubs that play League rugby at Regional 1 (level 5), Regional 2 (level 6) and Counties 1 (level 7) will be entered into the Cup competition.
Clubs that play League rugby at Counties 2 (level 8) will be entered into the Vase competition.
Clubs that play at Counties 3 (level 9) and below will be entered into the Bowl competition.
We are also pleased to announce that, as was the case last season, entry to the 2023/24 competitions will be free of charge. We will, however, be requiring a ‘bond’ of £99from each Club. This ‘bond’ will be returned once a Club has fulfilled all its competition fixture obligations. Details of how to pay the ‘bond’ are to be found on the entry form.
Our intention is to announce the Cup/Vase/Bowl draws during January 24.
